Read More & PricingThis program will provide campers the exciting opportunity of daily interaction with a variety of farm animals such as goats, chickens, cats, sheep and horses at Country Heritage Park (CHP), an interactive farming facility beside Kelso Conservation Area. Campers will learn about the feeding, cleaning, grooming and general care of farm animals and will gain a greater appreciation for them and their impact on society. The camp's main focus will be on sheep as campers will experience carding, hand spinning and the dying of wool. Campers will also enjoy a visit to the School House exhibit and a tractor-drawn wagon ride, in addition to other fun activities throughout the week including swimming, games, crafts and special events, spending time each day at both CHP and Kelso. Instruction will cover skills such as jumping, starting, riding banked walls & corners, as well as explain about equipment and riding gear, always keeping safety a top priority. Participants will receive individualized golf instruction from a Golf Pro three days a week, as well as practice time at the driving range. Two days a week, players can apply their skills as they make their way through a 9-hole course. In addition, campers will enjoy daily recreational camp activities including swimming, games, other sports, special events and more. Campers are encouraged to bring their own clubs and golf balls from home, as they are not provided. All clubs will be kept in locked storage at camp when not in use. Campers may rent clubs from the golf course when they play (cost is $6-$10/rental), and borrow clubs from the driving range when they practice (no charge). Buckets of balls will be provided when at the driving range, however they are not provided when at the course.

As well, campers will have access to SmileBox, an online program, enabling them to share their photographs in personalized, creative e-photo albums. Our Wilderness Camp will provide campers orienteering, hiking, team building and environmental experiences sure to be a fun, exciting and challenging learning experience for them! Campers will enjoy their first day at Kelso Park, getting to know their peers and counselors better and learning how to use a compass and other hiking equipment, as they hike up the Niagara Escarpment trail on-site. On Tuesday, they will start their day at Mt. Nemo, (will be dropped off there by bus upon arrival at Kelso) and hike along the Bruce Trail towards Rattlesnake Point, where they will settle for the night, setting up a camp site, and preparing their meals. On Wednesday, campers will continue their hike along the Bruce Trail, making their way to Hilton Falls then back to Kelso Park for another overnight camp out they will set up and prepare meals for. Thursday and Friday, campers will enjoy time at Kelso, swimming, canoeing, playing active games and field sports and taking part in our end of week Major Special! Tents, food and other necessary supplies will be provided for Tuesday and Wednesday sleepovers. Other supplies needed from home. A Sleepover Checklist can be found in our Camp Info Package, available to view on our Camp Forms page, as well, will be provided via email upon registration. Important: Due to the nature of this program, campers should be in good physical condition and prepared to hike several kilometers of terrain daily, as well as be willing to help set up/ take down tents, prepare meals, carry their own backpacks and supplies, and keep up with the pace of the group.
